Default "new" 2003 accord, little help?

I'm new, so here goes,
Bought my wife an 03' accord V6 w/ 44k miles. We looked at altimas, maximas, and even camrys, but the honda seemed the best on the market.

I, like many of you have noticed VERY touchy brakes. I'm gonna change the pads tonight and see if that helps at all. (there getting low anyway).
also I notice when the car's idling and in park, it surges just a bit...kind of a pulsing. When you put it in gear, the rpms kick down just a bit and the "pulsing" stops. Any ideas??

other than that, I love the way it drives, plenty of power, and safe for my wife to drive!!

And the idling surging is independant to AC compressor coming on and off?

You need to explain both problems a lot more to get any real help. They both could be purely subjective.

The brakes simply seem to grab too much. No matter how smoothly and lightly i place my foot on the brake, it still grabs. The brakes don't lock up or anything, it's just hard to come to a smooth stop. They seem too touchy to me. I guess after reading some other posts, they all are like that.

the engine surging is not really noticable. It's not related to the a/c compressor. You can't even tell that the rpms change at all. The only way i notice it is a slight vibration comeing and going every couple seconds. It only does it when the car's in park. Probably nothing, but i wanted to know if the idler was adjustable, or if there was something els i might be looking for. Thanks for any help!

Also, make sure you change the brake fluid, if you haven't already since it has been over two years.

As for the surging, maybe the throttle body needs cleaning. I am not sure where you bought the car, but if it is Honda Certified, take it to the dealer.
