Default I need Help...accord valve cover

Ok well...the other day I decided to remove my valve cover to clean it up and stuff and I realized I would have to go buy a new valve cover gasket so I did taht and put it on and everything...so I did that and Tightened the bolts...well I figured out I tightened the bolts to tight and it stripped some of the threads out inside my block so now my car leaks oil and smokes like a bitch cuz it leaks onto my headers...anyways so im fixing that problem tomorrow but I was driving it the other day and like every now and then it seems like my car hesitates when i have the gas pedal like halfway in...its not horribly bad or nething...someone told me it could be my fuel pump or my fuel filter..if I ran some fuel injector cleaner through my car would the fix that problem...or do I need a new fuel pump and filter...someone please help me out..tomorrow im going to buy a heater coil kit? to fix my threads and get some fuel injector cleaner..please tell me if that will fix it im really worried about it...ive never had this problem till my car started leaking oil out of my valve cover cuz I cant tighten my bolts all the way!! Please Help guys!

The bolts dont need to be that tight. What you need is called a Helicoil Kit.

What motor do you have and how many miles on it?

Do some general maintenance. Replace the fuel filter, change the oil+filter, air filter, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and spark plug wires. Then see if you still have the problem.

Honda blocks are aluminum, so you cant tighten things down alot, or you will strip it out. But a maintenance manual for your car, its prob the best thing you could buy for your car.

Dont overtighten the spark plugs !!!!!!!

Replace the PCV valve.

The fuel filter is best replaced by an experience Honda Mechanic. It is a severe PITA and takes about 25 minutes for someone that KNOWS how to get at it and change it.

Change the air filter.

Fuel injector cleaner isn't going to instantly clean everything up and make it work like magic. It's gonna take 15,000 miles of using it every 3,000 miles to see a difference.

If it is leaking oil that bad, you need to fix that problem first and your problem should be about gone.

You don't want to burn a lot of fuel additives through your car. It can be bad for the cat., etc. If you're going to do an injector cleaner, get the good stuff, like the BK44 or whatever it is from the Honda dealer. Or if your car is old enough with a lot of miles, go ahead and take it in for a fuel system flush.
