adjusting shocks
i just had a set of tokico illumina shocks and struts installed. the front are very easy to adjust but the backs...
i took the back seat out to get to them but there is a seat support pillar blocking access to the adjustment switches. i plan on drilling holes in the pillars to gain access. has anyone had any experience with these before?
i drive a 97 accord ex
thanks,
andrew

yes it is a huge bitch but i think what we did on my friend's was a flat head 1/4" attachment and a 1/4" wrench.
push down on attachment with one hand and turn the wrench with other, free the wrench so that turning is easier.

thanks for the response. i know what you mean. those nuts holding the support thing in are square with rounded edges....like honda didn't want me to take them out...oh well i suppose ill have to use a drill and a saw
i dont really care about people in the backseat anyway!!!!!!!

I know my car is different (99 sedan) but this was my solution. Rear plastic tray in the way, and the Koni knob is too short to fit down there without removing the side bolsters.
So I notched out the plastic tray piece, had my bro in law machine me a wrench to adjust the Koni's.

Probably doesn't help you much, but maybe some 6th genners that are viewing the thread.

jschmid is right.
thats what i meant. i can adjust them (just turn a dial) its the getting to them that has me stumped.
tommarow ive got time so i think im gonna cut out a section of those supports to allow me instant access to the adjustment switches...
it would be real cool if there was an electronic mechanism that could switch them for me...be connected up front to a knob or switch of some sort.
thanks for all your replies,
andrew

i took the side bolsters out and there were two more bolts. it actually very easy to remove those support pillars once i realised that i didn't have to cut/drill anything.
thanks again for all the input
