Default Alternator question...

My alternator has started whining a bit (same alternator sound as usual, just a little louder)? Does that mean it is going bad or does it just need to be touched up somehow... (something tightened or lubed?).

Please bear with a stupid Noob

It's prob the bearings in side the alternator. You will have to get it replace soon. Very common on the V6 Accords.

Thanks for the great info (it is a V6).

Is installing one on V-6 relatively easy, or a pain in the butt because other things have to be moved to get it out and a new one in?

It's easy. You just have to remove the condenser fan/motor.
