Default Topless

sorry about the "topless" part, just want to get your attention.

anyways, i have an accord 2001, thinking about getting a keyless entry install but not sure if my car has one before i bought it. does anyone know how i can find this out?

also is it cheap to buy the keyless entry system on ebay and install it yourself? is it hard? are there steps?

i am thinking about installing one in bestbuy but they guy charges me about 400 bucks.

thx

What kinda Accord you got, EX,LX DX?????? do you have power locks and power windows if so most probably it did came with it but not sure about it look for a control unit(Black box) under the steering wheel. Think it costs about 150-200 bones

Installation is usualy easy here some instructions,

For the programing of the remote, just look up the FAQ section. hope this helps.

For the title, people will see it no matter what you put and will help as well if they can so next time just put whatever the problem is.

If its a EX, all you would need is a factory remote(no, they are not all the same) and get it programed to the car.
If its a LX, the car did not come with any keyless unless it was added
by the dealer as a stand alone keyless, or a Honda alarm which included
the keyless. Ether way, both were expensive to buy and have it installed.
(Not $50 like last poster stated, that was just for 98-00 Civics)
The cheapest way to go is to have a aftermarket alarm installed, unless
you feel a need to have a factory unit.

if you want to go OEM... HandA has the Keyless Entry for LX for $150 or the full Security System for $240.

click on the installation instructions link and see if you want to take on the install by yourself.
