True, but weight does play a factor here.
But first things first.
Do the maintaince on your car to see if there's a problem. If the performance is the same, then go with the mods.
You can start with replacing the plugs, wires, filter, PCV valve, oil, and cleaning the fuel system.
If possible, do this at one time instead of doing one now, another a week later and so forth.
If you do it all now (or as much as possible at one time) It'll be easier to notice a difference. Also remember, Hondas (I dare say all models) get there performance up top and not down low. That's why Honda's get great gas mileage but can still maintain decent performance. That's the purpose of VTEC, or in your case I-VTEC.
