Default Need A/C compresser for 99 accord, where is best place to buy it??

I just found out that my gf's 99 honda accord 4dr ex need a new a/c compresser. It was making a knocking sound and the dealership told me that it needs to be replaced. Where is the best place I can buy them at? Also is there a difference in terms of 98-02 ones? I know I can purchase used one on car-parts.com but want to make sure that the a/c compresser is same from 98-02.

I purchased one on ebay for my 94 ($45 shipped). There are different brands of compressors, so just match up the brand and you'll be ok.

You CAN switch brands, but you'll need the matching bracket and probably a line or 2.

Beside going to dealership, where would be some place to get it installed at? I was thinking of Pep Boys or Firestone.

Anywhere that does A/C repairs should be able to do it. Its a pretty easy process, just a little time consuming because the power steering pump and alternator need to come out of the way. I'd say to do it yourself if you have the simple tools needed, but you'd have to have the A/C system evacuated first.

I checked that on my gf's accord but there wasn't anything there. The a/c compresser really went bad on her car.
