mine died a few months ago. it doesn't light up any more. everything still works but you need direct light to see it like a flashlight.

The climate control? Mine went dim at times because of the winter coldness and the subwoofers sucking a lot of the power. :happysad:

It's a relatively common problem on 03s and some 04s. The dealerships have been replacing the entire units under warranty, and Honda has been issuing goodwill service to some of those out of warranty. Out of pocket expense to replace the unit from Honda is $1,000+. Depending on the situation, they may cover the entire cost, or they may split it with you. Call Honda of America. There is a TSB out for the problem, # 04-027. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah, a friend of mines died on hers also. It's getting replaced under warranty though. But there's a way you can purposely turn off the display if it's too bright. Press & hold the CD button for 5 seconds. You'll hear a beap, then it should go dim, or come back. For many 7th gen models it worked, but if there's a problem with the actual unit, it won't work

I've already been through 2 on my '03 Accord. The first one was while it was under warranty and the other was when my car had a little over 100 miles over the warranty (therefore out of warranty). I have the extended warranty on my car (got a real good deal purchasing it so I decided to get it) so luckily I only paid $50 bucks to get it replaced (along with some other work done to it).

It's a big problem and when it happened the 2nd time I got pretty peaved...
