89Accord Intake Question

i was wondering if i took the hose off the end of the box that has the round filter in it if it will create a deeper sound when driving. and is it ok to drive with out the hose connected?

well if its a filter its filtering out the elements. Now if you take the filter off then your engine will be sucking up dirt, rocks, etc......
