Default Damage caused by Air Fresher

I bought a Air fresher (those one piece kind, hang in the center mirror inside the car) and i put it around the Transmission Stick area on my 02 V6ex
After 2 weeks i found out that the plastic plate with "P-R-N-D label" and the wooden pattern plate in front of the armwest is MELTED (chemical reaction i suppose)
it got very sticky and soft (the surface only, around the size of a mouse), and it looks pretty bad

anyone knows how much will that cost me to repair that ? All 3 pieces of the central plates (around the trans-stick, grey, wooden colour) surface are damaged.

Dealer said it is not under warrentry, and they are asking for $300CAN include parts and labour.
is it too much , coz the parts the dealer said is around $140CAN

is it hard to REMOVE and install those by myself ?
