Default 98 Accord V6 Problem

I have 98 Accord v6. It has recently got into problem of Gear Shift lever locking every time i take it in park position. My dashboard indicators- speed, fuel guage, Engine temp. etc. doesn't work. Headlights, sidelights work. It started with Check engine light on & D4 gear position blinking while running. What could be the cause?

98-00 accord v6 have an extended warranty on their transmissions up to 100k.

call 1800-594-7400 Honda Care

only the 00-01s do

Check engine light on & D4 blinking = failed tranny

i'd suggest going to the dealer... they may offer to goodwill the replacement, having you only pay 1/2 the cost. YMMV

If they did extend the tranny warranty, it's good for 7 years or 100,000 miles.

Assuming he is under 100K, the car could be just past the 7 year mark.
