I/E/H will only add 15 to the wheels if you're lucky.

Weight reduction will help quite a bit when it comes to acceleration.

Yip...

Speaking of which, I've been looking into ways to do this.

Obviously a carbon fiber hood would loose some weight... but how about bumpers/fenders... going to fiberglass, how much weight would you loose, and what brands are best for quality? And what are some other ways to go about doing this on a budget? This isn't just for my knowledge, but burnrubber's as well, not to mention others who are trying to figure this out and stumble across this thread.

basic maintenance is the best way to improve performance.
- keep your tires inflated properly
- change your sparkplugs and wires at the suggested intervals
- run a fuel injector cleaner once every 6K

assuming that's been done ...

A CF hood will shed about 50lbs. Make sure to keep that properly knotted down with locks.

Fenders will help too, but the aftermerket fits aren't the best. Also, they don't take impacts too well. They'll shatter on the spot and put most of the hit right on the frame.

If you're truly looking for power, try looking into other cars. The Accord brings much more than speed to the table, but if that's all you're looking for ... you got the wrong car.

Accord = Family Sedan = not a race car.
If you want speed then you chose the wrong car.

dont get a mustang unless you plan on repairing it daily.

Get a civic and swap in a different engine.

I'm pretty sure the AV6 6-speed is faster from 0 to 60 than a V6 Mustang.

Mustangs are OK, the conceptions about reliablity are exaggerated. Yes, Civics and the likes are generally more reliable but if you drive anything hard it will break. Accord with H22 is nice, good $$ for power.
