Correct Coolant Type/Color?

Tom, I'm not sure which one is "correct" for your car, but the Honda fluid is blue and pre-mixed 50/50.

I use this in my '00 Civic and '92 Acura Legend, as the latter seemed to be known for overheating due to other coolants degrading the headgasket around the #6 cylinder.

Honda (and some other mechanics) appear to speak of the additives in various types of coolant being a problem with Honda's aluminum engines (and radiators). I'm not a chemist, but I do like to drive my cars until the wheels fall off (last Accord sold 3 years ago with 250,000 miles on it, and it's still going strong at 300,000 with no big maintenance issues), so I try to stick with manufacturer recommended items, even if they cost a bit more. I do a lot of maintenance myself, so at least I save on the labor.

Here are some items I feel justified buying OEM:

Radiator cap
Thermostat
Fluids (except oil)
Timing belt
Water pump

I'm sure there are others, but that's off the top of my head...

i use honda genuine coolant, cuz they have it, why not use it, right?
