Window Tinting
if your getting ur windows tinted go to a well respected place and make sure they offer lifetime warrenty that way you know it quallity tint and the person that is doing it is a porfessional tinter. it will prolly cost you about 200 bucks for a good job. ive had my car tinted a year ago 5 percent and i have not yet seen any fading bubleing. or pealing. so yeah what you pay for is what you get
When is the right time to remove the old tint and apply a new one? I heard this from a friend that if you have the tint for about 5 years or more, the tint will be very hard to remove and will begin to crack. Can any one confirm this?

It all depend what type of tints u have on ur car. I had mine on for about 4 yrs and no problem no crack but some cheap stuff will probably start showing.
no matter what tints you have if u take ur car to a pro place they will remove ur tints easy, they spray some fluid on the tint so it can come off easy and in one sheet.

They didn't start to bubble from not sticking correctly... but there was some dust/dirt left in there when they put the tints, so after the 3 days past and the tints had completely dried up, you can notice little bubbles that form around the dirt, so the weekend after I went back and had them redo the tint. I also got such a great price because I know a lot of shop owners because of my job, but even without that, 220 is high. Maybe it's also just because of location, and stricter laws or something.

They do clean and prep areas, but obvioulsy they are not working in a cleanroom, so from the time they remove the plastic off the film and apply it to the window, it's possible to get dust, and it would be hard to determine which bubbles are dust and which are just water, because freshly done tints will have bubbles of water that evaporate during the 3 days that they tell you "don't lower your windows"
I would expect to pay the 220, maybe from one of the places that uses laser precut films specific to the car (I think I had gotten a quote from one of those places before and it was up around that price range)
I would think it also has to do a lot with location... here in Miami, there's like 3 stereo and tint shops on every block, which might help in getting lower prices as well.
I got a ticket for my tints once... I just removed the tint myself, went to court and the judge threw out the ticket... and then I went and got even darker tints. haha
