Default TYC with Retro Projector

What would be involved with pulling the proj. out of a TYC and swapping in an OEM projector. Im sure it will vary with what company's proj. I use. What's the cutoff like with the TYC projector + HID's, all over the place??

I want pictures, side by side comparison. I've searched and every time it gets brought up, the subject seems to immediatly change and no answers are found.

I've heard this problem: Those houses can't handle the heat of HID. Is that true?

HID runs cooler than halogen. TYC headlights are not meant for HID directly because A: its illegal and B: the projectors in there do a terrible job with HID (besides the fact that the bulbs dont even fit in them).

Its actually not too bad to swap the projectors, you just have to use projectors small enough to fit in there, like Valeo or Bosch.

I've heard that Valeos fit the best. Im more concerned with having a good seal and leveling. Has anyone done this with the Valeos, what kind of labor are we talking, I'd assume it would be less because there already is a projector in there.

Go read up and do searches on hidplanet.com, they have writeups for putting all types of HID projectors in TYC's and ebay projector headlights. One guy put 2 sets of Bi-xenon's in some ebay projectors for his Grand Cherokee. It turned out very nice. For the best HID info, go to an HID specific forum.
