Oh ya... one more question... should I just buy the headlights them selves, which seem to be cheaper on ebay than the projectors them selves, or what? Would I be missing anything that may have been seperated if I buy the headlights? (I found a set of S2K headlights for $300, had projectors, and was in good shape... but the projectors/ballast/bulbs/wiring out of the S2K cost over $600!)

you could buy the s2k's headlights and just pull out the projector and bulbs. at that point, youd just need to find a pair of ballasts.

Alright, sounds good. Now all I need to do is find a different set of headlights because someone already bought it. lol

I don't know of any high-beam specific HID projectors. Also, all you would have to do is remove the shield in the projector for a highbeam setup.(Basicly what what a Bi-xenon projector does when highs are switched on)

PunkAssKidThe1s, there is a good bit of wiring needed to hook up the solenoid on a Bi-xenon, so make sure you do your homework! Also, if you want to learn about HID stuff I suggest hitting up the forums at hidplanet.com
There are both halogen and HID high beam projectors... the VW touraeg (sp?) uses the halogens and the phaeton uses D1S HID high beams.

Most bi-xenon projectors just need positive and ground to operate... the older bosch bi-xenons are a pain in the ass, the newer ones just need a good size resistor to "keep their cool".

You are correct.

I am certain the Phaeton is the only car that has HID for high beams and low beams that uses seperate projectors. And from what I have read it is unknown how they accomplished this without a delayed warm up, and avoiding hot re-strikes.
