get silicone 2 unless you can't find it and there's only silicone 1.

blowdryer = heat gun

silicone 2 = $4
caulking gun = $1.60
high-temp black gloss spray paint = $3

smoking headlights yourself = 2-3 hours, maybe 4
money you save = $150...money you earn = 150/3 = $50/hour

well, first of all, sorry i had to quote, but i can't read your post with that huge picture moving my little ghettofied desktop (1024x768).

anyway, good job on your headlamps. everything's a good learning experience. my headlights are also smoked, but i left the blinker unsmoked (took a while to actually spray masking it off safely).

as for the rear tail lights, go to my photo album by clicking on the signature "2000 AV6 click for more pictures" part. there should be pictures where the light shines through. they shine through perfectly and at night too, but in the daytime when you have nothing on, it's almost black as the rest of the car. it's NOT LEGAL though. white 98 sedan? it'll look awesome, but just tint the top part where it's clear. you can tint that as dark as you would like. don't forget the clearcoat or else the tint will wash off after months.

after blackening the headlights does it affect the brightness of your headlights since black absorbs light? with stock bulbs or white bulbs is there a difference?
