Default Finally, I got my new Accord!

As some of you know, I sold my 1996 Honda Accord with the intention of replacing it with a brand new one. Well, I finally went down and signed my life away for another 5 years for a 2006 4-cyl Honda Accord EX-L. Sticker price was 25,500... I talked them down to 24,000 and financed 16,000 OTD after my downpayment. I didn't get any dealer add ons, as I didn't want to include them in the loan... but I do plan to get a few of the accesories (such as the spoiler) from another source. They had to deliver the car from another dealer, so it was close to nightfall before it arrived... so I apologize for the night shots. I'll take some more in the daylight later on. Anyway, here it is...hopefully these work okay...

Hmm, I never noticed that. It might be the way the light hit it, but I'll double check. I didn't notice it in person.

Nope, we have a 2005 EX-L Sedan. Silver with black interior.

I hope you are as pleased with yours as we are with ours. Also, as somebody mentioned, you might consider leaving the factory oil in longer than I did (750 miles). Seems it is definitely special break-in oil, although I ain't skeered.

I've changed the oil twice in ours and it's right at 3,000 miles now and Mobil-1 5W20 is going in tomorrow, along with a PureONE filter.

I think the difference in color on your shots is because the rear clip is plastic, at a different angle, and light reflects different off of it versus metal. I doubt it is a color problem.

Default change...and for the better!

Im glad honda finally realized that the wood around the center console...around the gear area ...didnt really look very "woody" (for ex: 05 exL sedan like mine) ...hope its not the night shot....but certainly does look much darker and nicer....

congrats again...

Yes, the wood trim is much darker in the 06s. This was a nice improvement. I also like the new aluminum finish stereo head unit bezel. I don't notice any other changes aside from the chrome 'H' on the steering wheel, gear shifter and guages (which have the traditional Honda font)

I hope you are as pleased with yours as we are with ours>>>

Thank you, very much so! This car is such a nice step up from my 96. MUCH more luxurious, roomier, more powerful, more refined, quieter and just an overall more substantial car. On the other hand, the 96 was mechanically flawless...absolutely no engine repairs, breakdowns or no-starts in almost 10 years and 170,000 miles. Still had most of the original components such as the AC compressor, starter, alternator, PS pump, etc. and the interior was still tight and rattle free. I am expecting the same from the new one...

I'll have to look up the thread and read-up on it because I do plan to change over to Mobil1 and PureOne filters, as I did with my 96 when I bought it.
