Default Someone's Backend ran into my accord...

Actualy its the other way around, but hey its a cruel world an the I get the blame...

Anyways I got to fix the front end of my car, and where is a better place to go to than Honda-Acura forums? Don't answer that...

Well lets get to the question. The impact was pretty strong since my radiator was bent in along with all the medal around it and the head light assembly, and my bumber fell off. Well what I want to know is if the chasis is bent or not and if so is it fixable. Where the bumber bolts on to the car (93 accord), is that the chasis?

Radiators and radiator supports aren't structual, and neither are bumper covers so those will always break. A good tell tale sign if your frame is twisted is if the gap between your hood and fenders is inconsistant.

I didn't know FWD cars had a Frame or a Chassis.

Sorry it has taken so long for me to upload pics and reply, very busy without transportation. The pics are attached below. What seems to be bent is the metal that holds the radiator, lights, hood lock, air conditioning coils, and the bumper itself. The only problem is that its welded to the chasis or frame, whatever it is... and I do not know how to replace or fix that part since it is welded. I am going to buy parts from a junk yard to fix it so I really need to know how to fix the welded parts?

i'd bet there's frame damage. but you may have to take it into a body shop to find out for sure, and how much it'll cost to fix it. aren't you going to get an insurance estimate anyway?

HOLY SHIT! did you run into a cement mixer at 55mph?!? there is no way you are gonna fix that by yourself. im not trying to be a dick, but you posted questions that show you probably dont nessecarily know what you are doing. you could have the skills to repair this, but to repair it correctly is most likely another story. if you repair this and its not done correctly you could compromise the sturctural integrity of your car, causing harm to your self and others, especially if its anythign like that accident. So either take it to a body shop and have it repaired, or at least have them determine if its still structurally sound, which if it is you can go ahead and try to repair all the cosmetics. That or suck it up, and start parting out everything good on the car and either sell the parts or buy another CB7 and have alot of spare parts, which could also save you money later.

Yes the airbag deployed, and it blowed the main fuse. I know I have to get a new one, but that is the least of my worries, since the haynes manual tells me how to replace the sterring wheel.

I beleive I will get a body shop to do the welding, and I know I have enough skill to do the rest myself.

Thanks for all these replies...
