Will 235 width tires fit '97 Accord?
I was wondering is 235/35/18 sized tires would fit my '97 (4dr) Accord w/o rubbing like crazy? And would that required 18x8.0 or would 18x7.5 rims work on that size tire?
Thanks!
(And no need to worry about the speedo being off... I checked and w/ stock Special Edition sized tires, 235/35/18's wouldn't screw it up - 185/65/15 (SE stock tires) vs. 235/35/18 = "Speedometer reading with non-stock tire is 0.0% too slow. When your speedometer reads 60mph, you are actually traveling 60.0 mph." - http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)
Thanks!

i'd say it depends on how much you are dropped. i have no finger gap on 225/40/18s and if i go to fast on a bump i'll rub. you prolly can go 235 on 7.5 but i never heard of it so 8.0's shouldn't be a prob. keep some space between there and you're good. what rims did you find in that size? goin for a staggered fitment?
he is right on 17's yes cause we have run them on a 95 here on thailand, its all about front clearance tho 18's are not forgiving on width as 17 inch rims are, but as for rubbing yes, we have done sumthing called "rolling" the inner fender well to help assure the inner lip of the fender well will not ruin the outer part of the tire in extreme situations.i honestllu would 225 in front, maybe 235 if yud like and surelly 235 in rear
The rims I was looking at: http://www.wheelsandtires.com/wheels.html?&pkg_tire=[PKG_TIRE]&checked_size=18&&pkg_tire=[PKGTIRE]&cart=10814868752331&brand=SPORT%20MAX%20RACING&PI CNUM=1787B&&checkAvailable=F&name=925%20CHROMIUM%2 0BLACK&make=HONDA&model=ACCORD%2090-98&size=18 but it has 18x7.5, no 18x8's

As for the drop... Currently it's stock, but I'm lookin to drop it around 1"... not alot so it's still practical, but enough to give it the look, as well as help in corning a bit (I've got KYB struts/springs, so it's taunter than stock but it's still a bit of a softy...)

Thanks for pointing that out... I wasn't even paying attention to that since I was searching for rims that were suppose to fit '97 Accord's... *mumbles something about why I dont trust most net stuff when it comes to cars*
yeah. i can't even think of a rim that comes in 4 lug thats 18x8 to fit an accord. you're gonna have to check out 240 rims and chances are they're staggered. btw, we have the same bolt pattern as 240's

My girlfriend's car is a 97 Accord sedan with 5-lug swap and 2004 Acural TL 17x8 wheels (+45 offset) with 225/45-17s. Not even a hint of rubbing, and she autocrosses her car (I drive it too, of course!)
