Default **** Engine Problem **** HELP !!!!!!!!

I have a problem with my 96 H.A. LX..... when i hit the gas full throttle it hesitates or bogging and also when i hit the gas all the way it take a long time to reach up to speed...... example going from 50 to 80 MPH.

P.S. I just put in a vtec Engine F 22B1... my car was non vtec before but my situation is the the company that install my motor said he can't make the vtec work cause it need a ODB 1 ECU. He put in my original ODB 2 ecu so that the engine will work fine but the vtec will not kick in...

My main concern is that the engine is bogging not accelerating to it potential speed. The company said that i might need a new transmission..... can you guys help me out thanks.

If you're not running the correct ECU then you should probably fix that first, don't you think?

Does he even know anything, one point he is saying "he can't make the vtec work cause it need a ODB 1 ECU" and then he is saying its not the ECU

Try changing your ECU first cause if you cant have VTEC then whats the point changing your motor?

Remember a modern drivetrain is 50% mechianical, 50% electrical. The wiring harness and ECU must be correct for that motor, otherwise there are certian solenoids, sensros and switches that won't have any control power.

It's would be like buying a new LCD monitor for you desktop computer, sticking it on your desk and plugging it in, then wondering why its won't work because you don't have the graphics card, data cable or software driver.

IMO - swapping motors on modern cars is ..well.. retarded. Just sell the car and buy a another used car with the motor you want. This isn't the 1970's these are sophisticated electronic machines not lumps of spinning iron with a carbeurator stuck on top.
