Yea...no matter how you look at it, it is cutting corners.... Agreed, it's cheaper for people that don't want the bells and whistles (leather, NAV, etc), but no 14mm Sway bar??? Thats a little surprising! I don't think the salesperson at the dealership mentions that when he's selling a DX... Atleast mine didn't.

I was about to buy a Civic and was sitting in it checking it out when I saw this Accord DX Value Pkg (basically DX with A/C) parked across from it for about a grand more.... I think I made a good decision....I like the look of the Accord alot more than a Civic.

As for the rear sway, another 3 days and it should be on!

Well, no, it's trying to price a car as low as possible. Every $20 helps. Don't you think that Honda would offer the EX-V6 with navi for $5000 if they could?

Cutting corners is horrible fit and finish, poor durability testing, poor ergonomics, parts bin switchgear, etc. Honda typically does not cut corners, especially in comparison to most other companies...the only way you could possibly say they do is through the use of platform and (limited) engine sharing.

I agree. If you look at what comes on the 7th gen DX compared
to earlier versions, you have.
anti-lock brakes
power windows
CD-Tuner
And the same engine as the LX/EX(6th gen had a lower horse power non vtec)
And now the 06 DX has cruise control plus other improvements.
The sway bar is a easy fix, but you have to shell out a exta few buck,
but not a big deal.

Do you really think the salesman knows that the DX doesn't have a rear sway bar? Sorry, but I'm sure there are some out there that don't even know what a sway bar is. Where are you getting 14mm? Is that the size that comes on the LX and EX? My 99 LX had a 16mm stock rear sway bar...I wouldn't expect it to get smaller.

Amen to that. There's a reason you can get a Chevy Impala sedan fully loaded with leather, power everything + moonroof, and auto climate control for 22k and a similarly equiped Accord EX V6 sedan can't be had for less than 25k.

I think it did get smaller on the 7th gen Schmiddy, our TSX has a fairly tiny rear sway...

The suspension type for the 6th and 7th gen is about the same but the length and angle of many of the rear 5 link arms did change, as such the car may not need as big a sway to get the same stiffness.

just remeber to check to make sure theres nuts in the back of the holes in the chassis...as when I did my rear disc / 5 lug conversion on my 5th gen and noticed there was no threads in the holes for the sway bar!! so I had to replace the rear crossmember to install it....
