Default cluster

hi, my friend has a 97 accord and put in a motor, is there a way to reset the miles or buy a new cluster, put in one from a 99?

Don't know if the clusters are interchangable between generations.. but how many miles are on that cluster? a/t or m/t? I'm in need of a new cluster at the moment.

BTW... welcome to HAN.

the 99 won't work unless you cut the cluster and rewire the plugs as the 99 is pined diffrent ... as I swapped my 94 one out for a 99 ...so the easy way is to just replace the gauge with one of the mileage you want

supposedly you can take it to a dealer and get it re-calibrated to whatever the mileage on your current car is. i've never done this before, but apparently other people have.
