I need to figure out how to adjust the cable on my 96 accord lx 2.2 non-vtec 4 cycl. replaced the old engine w/used one , when I connect the cable it's in gear already. read manual it says to put in neutral and push cable in till it stops and pull back once and it shoulkd be in reverse but the thing is how do I get the cable off to push it up plz help.

 

as soon as the throttle opens the leaver down on the trans should start to move. Adjust the trans cable so it does just that and you should be golden
