Default Engine swaps for a 6th gen

currently, are there any 6th gen accord drivers out there with an engine swap? i've been looking to swap a new engine in my car, but haven't really heard of anyone else with much success. I would think that the most common swap would be the H22/97+ Prelude, but I've heard that the motor mounts don't line up correctly and the wiring is quite difficult too.

are there any engines that will swap with ease and provide better hp than 150? (i have an I4) Also, I'm looking for an affordable engine, preferably in the "under $3,000" category.

and here's a random question that popped into my mind: What about the new 7th gen Accord V6? it's a 6 speed manual transmission with 240hp. If it was possible, that would yield TONS of potential. I know it's too soon to tell, but all these stories about how Honda has changed it's styles, such as integrating the intake manifold into the cylinder head... and how the RSX engine doesn't go into the 7th gen Civic easily... makes me think that this wouldn't work either.

oh well, just a thought. But about the 97+ Prelude engine in the 6th gen.... would it work?

People have done H22A swaps into Gen6 Accords before, but yes, the swap is not just a "bolt-on" replacement like it was for the Gen5's. The wiring is NOT easy, and yes, the engine mounts don't line up correctly, IIRC.

As for the new Gen7 AV6 with the "J30B" engine, it is the exhaust manifold that is integrated into the head, not the intake manifold.

Also, the RSX-S engine swap into a Civic has been done. There are pics floating around somewhere. Oh, you were saying not "easily" though. hehe...I think it did take awhile to get it working.

Honda seems to be trying to shake its "riceboy" image by making their cars much more difficult to modify. Integrated cats, integrated exhaust manifolds, little to NO room in the engine bays, etc. I really don't blame them, either.

Anyways, if you just want something unique that nobody else has, keep in mind that ANYTHING can be done. The only limit is money. If you just want something that's faster and you don't care about uniqueness, it might just be more cost-effective to trade in your car for something else.

Last year when I still had my AV6, I realized that the only way to get the performance I wanted out of it would require spending WAY more money than I expected, so I was going to trade it on a WRX. Some idiot did me the favor of totalling it though and when it came down to a decision I ended up getting a 5spd Maxima instead.

yes it works... (H22) i've seen it done but onlie by 2 ppl they are either on hondasociety.com or superhonda.com have done it... they have vague instructions but a good amount of pictures.

HOWEVER, they recommend switching to OBD as opposed to the OBDIIs.. I don't remember why, go check 'em out. something about killswitch problem for one i think...

7th gen won't swap tho...

Rather than a supercharger, I'd like a CL Type-S engine plus 6-speed in my AV6:yumyum:
