...Accord V6s are rev limited out of gear to 4400 RPM. This is so you don't mess up your engine more than you already are since revving out of gear is probably the single worst thing you could possibly do to your engine. The other noise is probably something you broke from doing this. Please stop abusing your car and if you sell it tell the person who wants to buy it that it's been abused.

thanks for your answer but i didn't abuse my car i bought it at a honda dealership and when i got it, it had about 68,000 miles on it and it was like that from the beginning. Since this is my first accord, I don't know if it is supposed to be like that or what.

hmmms, mister smart ass 98CoupeV6 with VTEC.. haha. who the hell are you that have the rights to accuse people of abusing their car? WHO THE HELL would want to buy a car and abuse it? I know, maybe you but it's ashame how you are going around talking shiet to these people. The purpose of having a question is to get an answer not get critisized. Plus no question is stupid, it's the person who answers it being stupid. You can give a good/ right answer or a wrong/ stupid answer. I think the one you just gave was the most ridiculous answer with a lame remark. Do us all a favor, if you're not gonna answer the question NICELY or with a lil intelligence, shut up or in this case cut off your fingers!

You are a new freaking member and dont know that he is one of the most helpful people here at HAN. Mark his words:"revving out of gear is probably the single worst thing you could possibly do to your engine" and consult your mechanic and ask him if thats not "ABUSING THE ENGINE" which the smartass who started is doing. He might sound a little rough but he is right about that and trying to help him.

As far as you "Mr. Nicest Ass" guy, go play around somewhere else since this website is to help other people and not to criticize other peoples way of explaining thing and besides shy do you care about "samuraisoul" so much????????

Hi noob :wavey: Apparently samurai was abusing his car but he wasn't aware so I educated him. Apparently you're also a fan of revving in neutral too. And I didn't 'accuse' him of abusing his car, I told him that he was abusing his car because he probably didn't know it. Hell, I didn't know it when I knew nothing about cars. I'm sorry if you took offense but it makes me sad to see Accords treated like this, it does a lot of harm to our engines.

haha. 98coupe is cool peoples in my book.
damn noobs. All noob posts should need approval from all the moderators before being posted in any thread. lol.

I'm so glad it's almost friday.

Samurai, stop the accord abuse, go back to the dealer, have a mechanic take a drive with you so they can see the shaking at high RPMs and then slap the back of your head for doing such things to the car. Serously though, if it has been acting strange since you purchased it, take it back to them.

PS. Did he say that he was drag racing in the accord? LMAO
He has much to learn about accords.

The shaking from the engine might be your motor mounts. Have those looked at. More than likely that's your problem. If your motor mounts are bad, your car will shake when you rev it, in gear or out.
