go to KBB.COM and see if its worth that much in the private party section. i personally wouldnt pay more then 2300 for it unless iam gonna do a motor swap.

Yep, that's one old engine. If the body and everything else are good, I would buy it about $2500, and spend about another $2000 for an engine swap. If you like the 5th gen look, then go for it with the engine swap

216k isn't too much if the car has been well maintained and driven responsibly. It will go another 100k+ easily, granted you continue the upkeep. My friend has 270,000 miles on his 90 CRX, and it runs and drives flawlessly. His g/f's 92 Accord is at 240k, still going strong. 164,000 on my 96, and I know I'll have it for another 150,000...

Compare it to other 5th gens, does it look/sound/drive the same as the others? If it looks worn out and the engine doesn't sound as healthy as others (w/ lower mileage) I would avoid it. 216k can be A-LOT on a car that someone just drove, and never serviced it on a regular basis.

Got my 94 2 door Accord with 99,000 miles for $1950 ($2200 w/ taxes). The only thing wrong with the car was that the drivers side door was a bit keyed up and it needed a new muffler. Other than that, perfect driving condition. The fact that the car has over 200k miles would discourage me from paying what your getting charged. Try to get a few hundred bumped off if not, shop around some more

if you got any mechanic friends bring them with you to go look at it again. i sohludve done that with 94 ex but i bought it anyway and i to buy a new header (which i planned on changing the whole exhaust anyway), new battery new ac compressor and some seals replaced....so i had to pay more for it...even though the engine DID SOUND GOOD. damn but it does run good.... after i get it out the shop this week
