Default How common are tranny problems??

How common are the Tranny Problems on Gen 6 Accords? I have a few friends that have them and havent had any problems. Is it really common, or just blown out of proportion because there a Honda. They seem to be more comon a V6 models than the I4.
Anyone know the percent of units that have had there tranny replaced?

3% of all units that cover the Odyssey, Accord, CL, and TL.

Remember, you only hear the horror stories, not the good stories.

Yeah he is right. I used to post good things about the Accords cause there are lots of people I know personaly who owns a 6 gen accord but nobody ever got any problems with the tranny untill the tranny of my 7th gen failed on 24K. It was fixed by the dealership free, just a defect or a blocked line I guess.
I was checking the maintanence records throughb the Owners Link and there's some recall thing on it which was fixed. I dont understand what it is and Iam thinking about putting a post about it. But back to the point, it is pretty common in the 6th gens but you never know whats coming your way.

We have a thread about this in the FAQ, a thread about this posted last week, and many more threads. Try a search. It's impossible to know exact percentages. 3.7% of trannies were defective according to the NHTSA, whatever defective means I do not know.

I wouldn't not buy an Accord based on tranny failures.
