2004 Accord Headlight Bulb replacement
Can anyone tell me how to replace the passenger side low beam headlight bulb on a 2004 Accord? Do I have to remove the whole headlight assembly? It is up under the fender and I can't really tell what has to be done. It looks like there might be 3 screws holding it in but I can't tell for sure. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
If it's like Accords in the past, you just turn the socket one way or the either and it'll come out. Loosening the three screws make it easier, if you can't reach one, just loosen two, then twist the socket, the wire, socket, and bulb will all remain attached, but they will become separate from the headlamp itself. Then you'll be able to swap the bulb.
I usually get by like Scmiddy said and loosen a screw or two then twist--look at the tab slots to figure out which way. Your owners manual should help you out.
If your 7th gen is like many newer hondas you may also need to remove one or two plastic covers that hide the bulbs form above when you look down with the hood open. The 01-02 V6 cars hid one set of bulbs this way.
You can also use a very small pocket type flat blade screw driver to release the clips on the harness that attach to the bulb socket. I find this makes swapping the bulb easier too.

Loosen the screw is realy hard and it not the way its suppose to be.
Remove the white socket that goes in the Bulb and then twist the bulb to the right, it will come off.
I had the same problem first time I was removing the bulbs but then I figured it was that simple.

After much research, and little info on "how-to", I replaced both stock 9006 low-beam bulbs on my 2004 Accord. Despite much info on removing fenderwell splash shields, I was able to open the hood, and reach the passenger side harness, remove plug, twist and remove bulb and reinstall- no problem. Driver's side required removing the battery, but same procedure. No problems, no cuts or bruises. Owners manual is unclear, Hayes 2003-05 Honda Accord repair manual is wrong, and the dealer charges $29.95 per bulb installed. Took me 10 minutes. Tried to save the radio settings with a 9V battery in the power plug (memory-saver) but that didn't work. Still needed to put in the radio anti-theft code, reset all the stations and time. Not sure on the other settings (PCM idle learn procedure??)
