Default car got scraped

well i just got back from vacation last tuesday and my co-worker told me that someone scraped my car at the parking lot where i work. so i told my boss and he said "what am i gonna do about it"?, and i said " what are you gonna do about it? coz its in the parking lot and you own the lot".

anyway to make the long story short he said he's not liable for it. so that sh!t sucks. i think he should pay for it coz its in his property, what do you guys think?

its not as bad as it sounds like, but theres a small line dent about 3" long and a big scrape about the size of my palm no paint was scraped on the palm scrape but on the dent a little paint has a scrape.

tell me what you guys think?

hm.. so by your theory.. if a friend parked on your driveway, and a neighborhood kid loses control of his bike (but there were no witnesses so you don't know which kid) and crash into your friend's car, you're liable for fixing it because he parked on your private property?

this is just my opinion but that's just lame. sorry your car got scraped but what was the point of approaching your boss about it? the only thing you accomplished by doing that is piss him off. so unless there's some video surveillance to show who did it, you're $hit outta luck.

oh yeah one more thing, the scrape comes from a truck just by looking at it you can tell its from a truck coz its higher. and most of the employees drives a truck, so one of our employees hit it for sure.

indulge me for a second. you said you went on "vacation". so why did you leave your car at work in the first place? you thought it was safer there than to park at home? if that was an issue, wouldn't it be safer to just find a friend to car-sit? pay a nominal fee to store your car in their garage or driveway?

either way, my personal opinion is that approaching your boss about this was all wrong. for whatever reason, YOU decided to leave your car at work while you were "on vacation". you had choices and you made that choice. obviously no one expected your car would be scraped, but accidents happen and you left the car there at your own discretion.
