1990 Accord LX brake lights stays on
When I park the car and get out I notice the brake lights stay on. Not the dash lights but the actual brake lights. Has anyone else ever had this problem and what should I look at?

That problem was a pain because it drained my battery of course...
There's a small plastic 'stopper' which has more than likely broken out. A hole in the metal lever just behind the brake pedal is where the 'stopper' is supposed to be.
The stopper would go thru that hole and press against a switch aimed at it, which controls the brake lights coming on and off when the pedal is pressed.
Get underneath the dash, press the pedal and follow the mechanics...it's hard to miss. I had to use a door panel plug to depress thru that hole until I found a more suitable application.... Hope this helps.

sounds like maybe a different problem, but that happens in my jeep and its just that the brake pedal "falls" just enough so that the lights stay on. right now a bungee cord is doing the trick just fine by holding the brake pedal up  ive had the brakes adjusted and the spring(s) checked but it still does it from time to time if i take the bungee cord off
Thank you guys for your help. I sold the car shortly after this problem happened. I told him to look for the same type of thing you all are suggesting. Hopefully he was able to find the problem. Again thank a lot!!
