Default hello / '05 tsx opinions

hello all,
i'm new to the site and also to the honda family. i'm planning on buying my wife an '05 tsx auto to commute in. it seems like a pretty nice little car, but i was hoping to get some actual owner opinions. also, does the 2.4l respond well to an aftermarket intake to give her a bit more merging grunt (and for those times i drive it of course).

thanks in advance and take care -brad

Hi Brad and welcome to the board. You'll find that everyone loves the TSX and just about everyone feels that the auto version is a bit short on power, but you can test drive it yourself for that.

The 2.4L responds very well to aftermarket modifications and you can easily get 15-20 horsepower from basic bolt on modifications.

FYI, the MY2006 version will have about 10 more horsepower.

thanks for the reply. yeah, i'm pretty much the manual trans or nothin' kinda guy, but the little woman deals with serious l.a. style traffic so we figured auto with some small mods might work out.

i appreciate the fyi, but and probably because of that fact we're working on a pretty good price for the '05.

thanks again -b

on a side note: your sig made me laugh, but if i may ask why is your V1 relatively useless? 190K and still tickin says it all. congrats

what kind of price are we talking here?

The 06 model was rumored to have the entire A-Spec, OEM kit for the price of the 05's model, around $27,000.

haha thanks. It's relatively useless because of laser here in NYS...I rarely speed on the major highways because most of the troopers have converted to it and it's nearly impossible to detect (although I've gotten out of two tickets from it before I realized I was an idiot for trying to beat it by switching lanes, slowing down quickly and watching the car following me get pulled over). I spent all that money on it and hard wired it to perfection with a switch and I'm still afraid to go more than 10 over the limit...but it's good to have in towns and cities. I'd still recommend getting one.

oh damn, laser, i'm sorry that sucks. on the price it's 24k with nav, but the main deal is taht she's way upside down on her pos explorer (no offense to any ford owners present of course as i drive a f-150 myself for work) and they were willing to work with us on the outgoing model year. i will ask about the '06 and see what they say though, can't hurt right?

24K is a tremendous deal. Acura dealers rarely budge on TSX pricing. Considering the 2K nav is the only option available for it, is there any way to get a model w/o it for 22k?

yeah i thought so too. i have to be honest with you it is through a friend. my wife works at lexus and their old sales manager went to acura down the street. with your enthusiastic confirmation i'll be going up today to seal the deal.

thanks again, you seem cool. good luck, safe driving and hope to chat with you again on some threads - brad

hey e3NiNe :
yeah they might do something less for no nav, but she really wants to have the navigation...

it's definately a lucky deal since we know the guy and he's seriously hooking us up, basically he's willing to bury the difference that she is upside down on her ford.

take care - brad
