Is it just me or has this thread gone from very helpful to very annoying all at once? Ok people im gonna help about 4 of you out just by doing something very simple. READ almost every question that anyone has asked has been previously addressed. I know that im the new guy here but come on. BTW i think that this sould go into the sticky thingy for helpful Threads.

Default I have an '01 Accord EX

And when I try to program the remote, the locks do cycle, but the remote still will not work. Could my remote be botched or could I just be doing something wrong? I followed the instructions step by step and am pretty sure I did it fast enough!

I tried the instructions for a newer honda model but to no avail. I have an 03 Honda Civic LX, the FCC ID on the remote is NHVWB1U521. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default Security System and Keyless Entry

I have noticed that all the cars I have been into, when the remote is pressed lock, the car makes a beep noise, or the horn yanks...letting the owner know that the car is properly lock. I have a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe Ex, and when I programmed the key, I can unlock, lock, and trunk, but the lock or unlock does not have a beep or horn yanking sound....

Is that how Honda built it? or is there any configuration to enable the beep sound...?....Also, how do I know if the security system is enabled...? Thanks

Pete

if you hit the lock twice... it should honk.

if the red light on the door is blinking... it is enabled.

Default hmm... I'm retarded

Hello guys, I recently bought a 99 accord coupe (not v6). When I bought it, the dealership did not have the car's remote so I never received one. When I got home I tried programming the remote from my mom's honda accord sedan so I can use it on my coupe and it worked!!! BUT... whenever I lock, unlock or open the trunk it does it on BOTH cars (they were next to each other at the time of programing)... What would the solution for my problem be?? Is there a way to "un-program" a remote on one of the cars?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for all the good info. Some questions:

1) Where can I buy (other than a dealer) a replacement remote / key-remote combo for a 07 CR-V?

2) Will the general Honda programming instructions above work?

3) How do I get the key cut (if it's a combo)?

Thanks.
