Hi all.. i have question about tire size for 98-02 accord coupe. what is the widest tire that mounts without rubbing. i am looking at a 235/35/19 tire and concerned that tire may be too wide. thanks for the help

225s do not rub. And 19s might be a bad choice unless you're going for the bling chrome look...they tend to look huge in a bad way on 6th gen Accords IMO.
Theres only one set of rims i've seen in 19's that fit great in an accord wheel well. I think they were the c5's

It also depends on the offset of the wheel. 205's will rub with an incorrect offset. It also depends on the wheel width.
The safe answer is to avoid anything bigger than 225, with a wheel not wider than 8". I'm not saying that 235 won't fit, but it'll likely require at least fender lip rolling and the perfect offset.
If you get 225's on a about a +45 to +48 offset wheel you should be golden, little or no rubbing depending on your tire brand, suspension, and camber.

I ended up getting that 98 Accord and am VERY happy
Your wheels are gucci, especially considering they're Honda. What model and size are they and what kind of rubber are they wearin'?! Did you have to run those struts or whatever they are up front so that they'd fit?

No, you don't need to modify the suspension to fit the wheels, but the problem is when you run a large wheel you want to maintain the same basic overall rolling diameter, which means you will have a shorter sidewall tire (some call low-profile). The shorter sidewall gives an illusion of the car now being lifted. It's because in stock form, you have about the same amount or less wheel gap compared to tire sidewall. With the larger wheels and correct size tires, you end up with more wheel gap than tire sidewall. This gives the illusion of the car being lifted.
So you really want to lower the car before adding tires larger than...maybe 16". 17" starts looking funny to me, and 18" is definately a no-no lol.
I would recommend doing the suspension first just because then you don't end up having that lifted look at stock height. I love my suspension because it just makes the car a lot more fun to drive. It's a bit more stiff than stock, so if you want a cushy ride, you might want to stick with the stock suspension, but you can lower the car about 1.5" or so and still maintain a decent ride.
Here's an example that shows what I'm talking about. This is magnified by the fact that this car also has the wrong size tires, they are too small in diameter.

h: I think my current all seasonals handle just as good as they did and they wore out extraordinarily quickly...maybe it was because of my shitty stock suspension, but I think the rubber compound is too soft and cheap for a 3000 lb car.
