The 6th gen accords were all SOHC VTEC (I4 & V6)
Actually up to the 6th gens, all the Accords had SOHC motors.
Starting with the 7th gen, that's when the Accord came with a DOHC motor (4cyl) while the V6 stayed with the SOHC motor

Adding another camshaft isn't going to magically increase horsepower but with a second camshaft you can more precisely and easily control intake and exhaust valve actuation.
