seams highly unlikely a CAT would be bad, I don't think I've ever killed a CAT.

I'd reset the light and double check the O2 sensor, if you only failed because of a CEL light and not emissions, I wouldn't jump at changing the CAT just yet.

Cats are common things to go on 6th gen V6s. There's even a TSB on it.

Well maybe but I assumed he was an I4.

Still if the cat was all used up, how would you pass the sniffer test? I would still investigate before dropping a wad on a CAT. Without alot of mods, it's hard to imagine a CAT just dying out.

See Post #3. Honda catalytic converters are amazing.

Only one thing causes the 'insufficient catalytic converter flow' CEL or whatever it's called, and it's the cat.

My bad Still it would seem he has a shot at resetting the CEL and trying the test again, heh couldn't hurt right :P

If they only want the light out and the car runs fine, heh why not try.

Hey man that's exactly what I did...it's an intermittent CEL so why not? The only thing I hate is that I can't break above 27 or so MPG

That still isn't bad given your mileage, in fact I have a new Ford that won't touch that with a stick, ever

My 4cyl only hits 34mpg on the highway only trips.
