Fuel control isn't based off the secondary O2, Oxygen sensors don't really look for oxygen so putting it in a plastic bottle isn't going to do anything. I wouldn't call it a modification.. it probably went to default fuel control look up tables and these assclowns think they're "tuners" now and it's now a "modification". ppl need to get educated about cars before they post on here, I'm getting tired mmust sleep

umm maybe you didn't know enough about vehicle engineering to due your job correctly and they fired you.

if anyone is looking to mod their car to increase poerformance there are a few things that can be done to change the way the computer calculates air/fuel ratio.
factory settings are not necessarily set up for best performance. most times they are set up for a combination of performance and fuel econmy. If you are willing to decrease the fuel economy you can increase the performance over stock.
the density of air and the amount of fuel largely affect the amount of hp generated. assuming we are working on the same motor. there is no replacement for displacement.
taking a n/a motor, intake and exhaust are the best place to start. Any mod that will allow more colder air in faste and allow more exhaust out will increase hp.
there must be a balance between the 2. lower back pressure actually means more hp. hence why would you put headers on a carand hi flow cats, and mandrel bent pipes.
the scavenger affect of a better flowing exhaust pulls exhaust fumes out of the motor more efficiently. there by increasing performance.
removing the cats all-be-it illegal will increase flow in the exhaust. the computer uses 02 sensors in the exhaust to measure the amount of oxygen and therby unburnt fuel to set the air fuel mixture.if the car is running what the ecm perceives as rich it will pull fuel and advance the time. the cleaner the exhaust air the more fuel the ecm will allow to be injected in to the engine. so by placing the 02 sensor in a bottle or placing in a safe place from damage the ecm will see clean air and increase the fuel in the mixture. in additon on the intake side your car will run faster in the winter because cold low humidity air is more dense, hence more 02 and more available 02 to mix with fuel generating more hp. a CAI only improves hp if the stock setup is poorly designed and pulls hot air in from within the engine compartment or is restrictive by size or bends.
I have raced modded vehicles from stock as well as cars built for racing. they are 2 different animals. when you take a stock vehicle and are looking for ways to make changes without major rebuilds or adaptions such as turbo, cams, torque converters, tranny, you can use some of these mods to increase hp/tq. you will not see as big of gains but you will see gains none the less.
as far as hacking goes. these are tested methods for increasing hp. I have a 2003 dodge ram p/u 2 door with the hemi. that runs 12.6 in the 1/4. dyno tested it generates 310hp to the ground. stock was 265hp. these gains were made by what hondatech calls hacking. I call it intelligently modifying the vehicle to acheive max output.
so bitch all you want but we'll see who is faster for less money.
