After changing timing belt and water pump, car idles fine but when engine reaches 3500 rpm's the engine stalls till it gets to 3000 rpm's and resume running fine. Timing belt seems to be loose, wondering how the tensioner works to keep belt tight.

well if you have a vtec equipped model it could be something wrong witht aht system
