Default TSB and Technical Info, Part II

Part I: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=179156

Well thankfully I'm finally back at work and able to post up TSBs and any other service manual diagram that you need, for any car. Hopefully this will be just as informative as the last thread

For those who don't know, I have access to the alldata database, which posts the service manuals and TSBs (technical service bulletins) of every car. To find out which TSBs your car has, refer to the first thread...someone posted a link where you can see the titles of them. I can pull anything up.

PLEASE limit your requests to items that have not been covered in the previous thread or the search button. These items will not be responded to and will be deleted by one of our moderators (oh, BTW, mods: if you guys could clean up the last thread to just raw info it would be great ).

Try not to email or PM me, requests posted here will be processed the quickest. Most will be posted within 24 hours.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris, Thank so much for your great thread with the TSB's. They helped me out a lot! Really appreciate it.

I have a question. Do you have any clue...as to the purpose of the EGR tube, relating to TSB 99-085? I have the same car as you.....Pearl Black. I need to do this work...have the capability (was a machinist for 15 years). The messed up this is....I have a new EGR.....without the tube. They will NOT sell the tube alone! Typically....it comes with the EGR...that I dont need. I have the feeling, that the purpose of the tube, because of the material or plating...slows down the accumulation of carbon. My thinking is......a good cleaning....should be sufficient. My car just turned 135,000 miles before it started the problem.....If it goes another 130K...I will be happy! I hate to buy ANOTHER EGR....I dont need!
Any thoughts on this?

Thanks again.......for all the work you've done for othere people!

No problem Robert.

They should be able to sell the hose kit. Ask for the 'EGR TSB kit' or something along those lines, and make sure to ask for a technician if the guy on the phone doesn't get it. There's a TSB that uses anti-squeak moonroof tape and I was able to get a technician on the line that knew what I was talking about from Manchester Honda.

I believe the purpose of the hose is to keep the EGR air port, previously a hole in the head and now a hose, away from the carbopn build up of the manifold.

I think that if you clean it well and run seafoam in your engine every 5 or 10k miles to take out the buildup you should be fine.
