Default Help with '96 Transaxle Fluid Change!

Okay, item 1 is the fill, item 2 is the drain. What are 3 and 4? I removed 3 and it looked like transaxle fluid (and smelled like it) drained a few drops. What are these plugs for? Some kind of maintenance window?

Also, is there and easy way to get fuid back in #1?

Are you sure 1 is the fill? As far as I knew, all Hondas had innocuous looking little bolts on the top of the transmission housing for the fill. Good question about 3 and 4, I've never seen those.

This is a manual trans. The autos do have a cap on top.

UPDATE!

From my trusted mechanic at AAMCO:

#3 & #4 are for the interlock pins for 5th gear and reverse. DO NOT REMOVE! YOU MAY HAVE SOMETHING DROP IN THE TRANS!!!!!!!

Of course I removed #3 as I mentioned, but nothing was moved, and it was promptly replaced. Test drive proved that the Trans is okay, but with a nice fresh bath of fluid.

BTW, this '96 now has 161K on it, and I'm replacing the front Rotors for the first time...not too bad :-)
