Default Replacing a bumper...help???

BRANDY new Accord (less than 2k, AURGH!) and I backed into another car in a parking lot. Fully accept responsibility, stupid me, however...I'd like to forego the endless husband nagging and replace it myself (or ask a friend to) so the other half never finds out. Shop is quoting me $650 (bumper costs $300)...looks like its just dented in and the paint scraped in the corner...any thoughts?

(Not promoting lying to a spouse but I AM admitting my inferior driving ability...just dont want to have to hear about it FORVER, you know???)

Way to much... But a bumper on ebay for $150 and mount it on yourself it is a couple of bolts and then take it somewhere to get painted

hmm, i think it would be better to get it painted whent he bumper is off the car because there is less of a chance of getting overspray on your brand new car

You can buy a part like that from a discount parts retailer (such as Manchester Honda at www.manhonda.com ) for far less than that. Then take it to a professional painter and have it painted. But make sure he's been in business for awhile and uses OEM paint and all that good stuff - if the paint job is crappy, it will be easy to tell the difference and you'll have just wasted a lot of money.
