Default metallic sound at higher speeds

I have 98 accord 2dr 4cyl. Whenever i go more than 70mph, i hear a almost screeching metallic whistling coming from the driver side of the windshield. Its intermittent, and its there about 75% of the time.

It might be a gap in the windshield, or it might be something scraping near the suspension or under hood. I really have no way to look at it when i'm going at 70mph.

When parked, I could not see any gaps or clearance problems.

I noticed that one of the round rubber caps on plastic part of the hood, right next to where the wipers are mounted is missing on the drivers side.
Could that be a problem ? Its seems trivial and I doubt the dealer is going to have one of those caps lying around.

Any ideas ?. My current solution is to turn the music louder than the screech!!!

thanks!

Your front brakes are worn out. That is the metal indication tab on the pad rubbing against your rotor.

The brake pads or the rotors ? The pads were changed less than a year ago and i dont hear any sound when i hit the brake. I was under the impression that the pad indicator screech occurs only when you hit the brake.

You can find wind noise sources by using tape to cover up parts one at a time. If the noise goes away, you just found the piece that is creating the noise. Time consuming but effective.
