I need to replace the engine in my 92 Accord EX. Will the 93 EX motor be the same? Did the 93 have VTEC yet? I know the Civics went to VTEC in 92.
Are the 92 Prelude motors a direct swap?

 

Get a prelude engine (H22A) or better yet a JDM F22B16. Thhe F22B16 engines are VTEC and are used on the Accords in Japan.

im not sure you realize how strict smog is in cali.
you probably go through hell trying to get an engine swap legalized especially if it is a JDM motor.

hell, even on my simple smog check with a stock motor, i failed visual because of ONE vacuum line and at the time i was getting low low low emissions.

 

the cops were gonna take my car just because it had an engine swap, when i get my car smoged i pay the guy at the smog like 200 to make it pass

 

1994 was the first vtec Accord, but it's only 145hp.
