Default Intake question (failed visual) 90, f22A4, stick

okay, went to my smog test today and passed the emissions part with flying colors BUT i failed visual.
when i was having problems with my distrubotr, the mechanic routed one of the vacuum lines wrong and my car would surge and die. My previous setup b4 the aem intake was cap off that one port and stuff foam into the other port like so...

so NOW, i uncapped this line (which is supposed to be capped and originally went to the vacuum box near the resonator)

and routed this line to the intake

problem is, that is the only setup that will allow me to run correctly. otherwise, the car will surge and die and shit. so i really dont know what to do.

OH, and does anyone know where this bracket is supposed to goto? in the manual, it says if the intake is not mounted via bracket than the warranty is viod?

thie intake looks like it should bolt up to the bolt in the center of the pic.

you sure you have the right intake for your engine/year? :dunno:

yea, i checked the carb number sine it has to match up anyways.

for the vacuum line problem, i busted out my old vacuum box, ran some tubing from that port and tested it...so far so good.
