Default Check engine light........

I've got a 99 Honda Accord EX V6 and the check engine light is on. Is there anyway to turn it off without taking it into the honda shop?

Pull the battery cables, wait a few minutes, put them back on.

Always worked for me

pull fuse #13 on the passanger side of the car. its the clock fuse. that will reset the ecu, its a lot easier and quicker than the other methods listed above.

Its worth mentioning that the light could be on as a result of something actually being wrong with the car. Its probably something simple and cheap like an O2 sensor, but it could be serious. Why do you want the light to be off? Are you trying to pass inspection without putting money into repairing the car?

Get the car checked out, only reason not to would be if you knew
you left the gas cap off and this trigged the light.
