Brake lights stopped working... all three. Can't find a separate fuse for brake lights in owners or Haynes manuals. Checked cruise control fuse since it's the same switch, everything's fine. Brake switch above pedal is making contact, everything down there is spotless and looks good. Could this switch have failed on me already?

 

The brake light switch going bad is common on 6th Gen, but
inexpensive part.

 

cost me $45 from a local shop to do it, parts and labor, had all 6 of the bulbs replaced, probably could have done it myself

 

i had a problem liek this.
it turned out one of the bulbs was broken which screwed up the whole brake lighting system. try looking for a broken bulb or replace all your bulbs, see if that works.
