Default 4 gen engine replacement

I am replacing and engine on a 92 accord lx. I found a 91 accord ex engine. Any reason why this wont match up? Also the transmission right now is an automatic and the 91 accord engine was a manual, and reason why these two will not bolt up to one another?

Dont waste your money save up and drop the H22 in there and besides most states say if you replace an engine it has to be the same year or newer.

i believe the ex might have a different ecu, but i'm not certain. otherwise it's the same motor, just with 5 more hp.

the 90-91 ex engine are basically just flowing better, but they still havea different ecu. the 92-93 ex have the dual stage intake manifold and they require a new ecu. and the f22a series are pretty cheap these days with under 50k miles for around $300
