Default steering wheel vibration while braking

i wanted to know if anyone can help me solve this problem. every once in a while my steering wheel will shake a lot when i press lightly on the brakes. i've replaced my pads, rotors, rotated and balanced my tires & bought new tires, and the problem still exists. it normally occurs at city speeds around 50 or excessively sometimes at highway speeds around 80. but it does not do it all of the time so i think something my be loose. does anyone know what can cause this?

thanks in advance
ps i searched the forums and only found one thing somewhat helpful mentioning pad depostits on the rotor, but if that was the case then it should always vibrate.

Sounds like you've ruled out all the obvious things. Imprinting pad material onto the rotor would go away when you replaced the pads & rotors. Unless your driving habits put them right back into that condition...

How about loose ball joints (including the little ones at the tie-rod ends)?

I would be interested to know what it is too, as my 94 does the same thing. It was worse before I got an allignment and the toe adjusted, but as it happens only when braking, It rules out a lot of things. Sorry not to provide a solution, just wanted you to know you aint the only one with this problem.

Might want to get your axle's and your front wheel bearing's checked. Or it could be a look ball joint like jimblake said i had a problem on a 94 accord on my ex's cars and it was her front wheel bearing's. I had a problemon my 94 ex that i bought and sold right away due to odometer fraud. It was some loose bolts on the power steering rack i got under there and took them all off and redid them and it was fine. But just trying to give my .02. Keep us updated on what it would be.
