Default 92 Accord temperature/coolant fan problem

Hello Mechanics..

Have a problem with 92 Accord temperature gauge. in Idle and traffic, temperature gauge goes 90% and fan turns on and gauge goes down.

I replaced the following:
New radiator
2 New thermoswitches since parts shows there are 2.
Replace the fluid
Replaced the thermostat
Bleed the system

Still the problem remains, the fan kicks in after a while, but the gauge goes up to the top until the fan kicks.

Please help me, it is driving me crazy!!!

That does seem a little unusual that the fan kicks on so late.

Maybe the temp gauge is incorrect. Have you replaced the engine temperature sensor? Does it seem ot warm-up unususally fast?

Hi

the sensor was not replaced, the engine does not warm up fast. The top hose gets hotter before the lower hose from the radiator though, eventually, turns hot.

Do you happen to know where the sensor is on this engine? How can I check it is faulty.

I would change it anyway. It's so inexpensive.
I think it should be the smallest switch located under the thermostat,.. its there for 5th gen's.
Word of advice,... I bought the fan switches from a rudy poo autoparts store twice,.. and twice it was rated at the wrong temp.
Brought it from the dealer,... no more over heating.

big chaze

thanks for the reply. I did replace the fan switches through the Honda dealer. However, the temperature gauge (sensor) not sure where that is located, I have not.
This is what puzzles me, I have changed everything on there except for the water pump. The only part that is not Honda dealer is the thermostat, bought from autozone.

Engine is 92 model.

98coupeV6 has a Forum. He has access to Alldata.

He has been posting answers to various Qs and might be able to help. If you don't have a manual or yours doesn't show the location of the sensor, 98coupeV6 is the person to ask.
