Default 99 Accord V6, brake recommendations??

I've got a pretty much stock 99 Accord 4 door V6 and want to upgrade the brakes, rotors and pads. Any recommendations out there on what to go with? Should I go with slotted or drilled, what's better.

Thanks

I had power slot with AEM before.. didn't make a difference.. even had the ss lines installed.. went back to stock rotor + pads.. and I got 3 sets of rotor, 1 in car, 1 powerslot and 2nd set of stock.. they were cheap..

I read a lot of brembo blanks and axxis or the endless green stuff... but axxis seems to be highly recommended. Using aftermarket pads and stock rotor isn't the greatest idea.. the stock rotor are softer than after market ones..

If you got with slotted or drilled, just make sure the shops you goto will cut (resurface) them. I went through a few to get my powerslot cut.. they keep claiming that it ruin's their machine..

there are also two machines that shops use to resurface things. one would be the machine lathe...cheaper but the best would be grinding (rock grinder machine?)the plate down.

the slots mess the tips up on the lathe.

id just get some bremo blanks and pads of your choice.

Like Wedley said, brembo blanks and a good set of pads is all you need. You don't need crossdrilled/slotted rotors or ss brake lines on a car driven on the street.

Thanks for the info. After doing a little more research on the net, I think I'm going to go with the Brembo blanks and maybe some Hawk pads, ceremic.

I have Hawk HPS pads and love them, I don't see the need to replace a perfectly good set of rotors though?

If the stock rotors are true and within tolerence they don't need turned, proper beading in of the new pads should be fine. Per Honda service manual.

aem bbk on fronts only with stock pads.. that's what i have on my 99coupe and makes pretty decent improvement over stock. it's around 500 bucks but i think it's worth it if you have 17+ wheels..
